Measurement Induced Phase Transition
Yupeng Wang
The dynamics consist of unitary evolution interspersed with the local measurement at different rates can be in different dynamic phases. The phase transition between these different dynamic phases, called measurement induced phase transition(MIPT), is a new type of entanglement phase transition after many-body localization phase transition. In this talk, I will review some important progress about MIPT. I will begin with an introduction to basic ideas of MIPT and its connection to error correction code. Then, I will describe these dynamics under the framework of open quantum system, and understand this transition via post-selection. Finally, I will introduce MIPT in free fermion and measurement only phase transition.
